Mental Health

Nearly one in five North Carolinians experience a mental illness and more than one in seven of those mentally ill people lack health insurance.

The members of the Coalition represent and advocate for the individuals, their families and providers of behavioral health services across North Carolina.

The Coalition and it’s subcoalition, The Mental Health Coalition advocates for improving the lives of persons with mental illness through the provision of effective services in the best setting for each person. We have focused on the implementation of Medicaid Transformation as it is critical to keep services and supports in place and in the community for persons living with mental illness.
